Just chill out.
At home

Don’t give a thought to the temperature.

In Colorado, the weather can vary considerably based on altitude – and on the season. This means you need home HVAC systems to regulate the temperature all year round.

That’s Where We Come In.

All American Heating is staffed with trained technicians ready to handle all your heating and cooling needs over the course of any given year. We fix what the other guys can’t, so before you replace it – call us. We’re ready to tackle repairs and service issues on most brands of air conditioning, furnaces, boilers, and other home mechanical systems.

In Spring, it’s especially important to consider your cooling needs, so you’re ready for the temperature variations that Summer can bring. Here’s how we can help you stay chill in the warm summer months.

Central Air Conditioning
As a Rheem Pro Partner, All American Heating installs Rheem Classic Series, Classic Plus Series, and Prestige Series Air Conditioners.

A central air conditioning system cools the air in your home from a central location. In most cases, treated air is dispersed using your furnace’s duct system. Ductless systems are available for older homes, or homes that do not have ductwork. There are even systems that utilize “zones” to direct conditioned air into the rooms you live in, without treating the air in those you use less often. There are numerous benefits to a whole-home air conditioning system:

  • Lower humidity is a great benefit of a central A/C system. Individual, small units cannot keep up with the humidity throughout your home as well as a central unit can. Reduced humidity improves indoor air quality by deterring the growth of mold and other contaminants, reducing allergy symptoms, and making the air healthier to breathe.
  • Central air conditioning systems use less electricity than multiple, stand-alone units require. This helps make your home more energy-efficient and costs you less in energy bills than individual room units.
  • A central A/C system can also help provide cleaner air for your home. Air is pulled through the cold air returns and forced through a filter, removing particles such as dust, lint, pet dander, and other allergens. The purified air is then recirculated throughout your home via ductwork.
  • Finally, a central A/C unit adds value to your home and requires little in the way of maintenance. These systems require only a general cleaning and tune-up once a year. A maintenance agreement can help remind you when it’s time for your A/C inspection and cleaning.

As a Rheem® Pro Partner, All American Heating is proud to install Classic and Classic Plus Series Air Conditioners, as well as Prestige Series Air Conditioners.

Heat Pumps

A heat pump is a different kind of central system that supplies both heating and cooling from one unit, which usually sits outdoors. If you decide to replace your furnace and A/C systems at the same time, you may want to consider a heat pump, particularly in milder climates.

Heat pumps work by gathering thermal heat from outdoors and delivering it to your home in the winter, and by taking the thermal heat from inside your home and sending it outside to cool your home in the summer. Modern heat pumps can transfer three to four times the amount of thermal energy in the form of heat than what they consume in electrical energy, making them one of the most energy-efficient ways to heat your home. Some of the other benefits of heat pumps include:

Heat pumps are a cost-effective alternative to a forced-air central air conditioning system. Heat pumps can put out 40-80% more energy than they use to run.
  • Because heat pumps run on electricity, they reduce the number of carbon emissions your home creates, wasting less energy and making your home greener. Additionally, because they don’t run on gas, heat pumps eliminate the risk of a gas leak, or a fire or explosion, making your home safer.
  • Heat pumps don’t require homeowners to get a separate dehumidifier to reduce the moisture in the air during warmer months. On the flip side, they won’t dry out the air in the colder months. And, they are generally quieter than other forms of central heat and air.
  • All American Heating is a Rheem Pro Partner, and we offer a variety of heat pump units, including, but not limited to Classic Series, Classic Plus Series, and Prestige Series Heat Pumps that provide comfortable home temperatures in any weather.
Mini-Split Systems
HVAC Tech works on a mini-split system

Mini-Splits are ductless systems that eliminate the need for a basement or attic-located evaporator unit and ductwork by using thin, copper tubing that pumps refrigerant directly to discreet wall-mounted units inside. These systems can serve multiple rooms or just a single room at a time.

Like heat pumps, mini-splits absorb heat from the outside and transfer it inside during colder months. During warmer temperatures, mini-splits move the heat from indoors, outdoors, leaving only cool, comfortable air behind. Also, like heat pumps, mini-splits can deliver up to four times the heat for energy consumed.

Here are some of the benefits that can result from a mini-split system:

  • A mini-split system is easily installed. They can fit in modest spaces and are controlled by a remote. In addition, because they are ductless, mini-splits require little in the way of equipment and placing some copper tubing to install.
  • The high levels of efficiency offered by mini-split systems help reduce energy costs, as well. These smaller systems can reduce utility bills by as much as 24%.
  • All American installs Rheem Classic, Classic Plus, and Prestige Series Mini-Split Systems.
Swamp Coolers

Swamp coolers are more basic than most air conditioning systems. They are also cheaper to install and operate. The concept is simple: When hot dry air passes over water (or better yet, through it), it cools off. A fan at one end is used to pull air in from the outside. The system then pushes the air out the other end into the house. But, before the air enters the house, it passes through a series of damp pads, where evaporation takes place. The cooler air moves into the house, and the warmer air is pushed back out. A small pump is used to keep the pads moist, preventing the water from evaporating completely.

It’s important to note, however, that swamp coolers work best in a hot, dry climate. Thus, they are most effective in the arid western and southwestern parts of the U.S.

A swamp cooler is much simpler than a condensing A/C unit, technically.

Swamp Cooler

While they are relatively inexpensive to purchase and install, swamp coolers also cost less to operate. The biggest savings point, however, is in the amount of electricity it uses. A swamp cooler uses 60-80 percent less electricity than other types of air conditioning systems. That means savings on your energy bill, but it’s also environmentally-friendly.

Ask your service technician if a swamp cooler is right for your home.
